Books!

This is an exciting moment for me: there's books available! Okay, okay. I know, there's always books available. But there aren't usually books with contributions from me, or books written by my real-world (rather than online) Writing Group.

.
Case #1: Pill Hill press anthology The e-Pocalypse: Emails at the End is now available. Short stories in email form, with mandatory author collaboration. I think our group (myself, Anne Michaud, and Anna K), were the only one with three. Because we are so brave, you know. Our contribution is "Animal Kingdoom", set across Canada (we may also have been the only entirely-Canadian group) . . . when good animals go bad.

As of now, you can order it at the Pill Hill Press site, or on Amazon.com in Kindle format.

Case #2: The first externally-published book by a member of my real-world Writing Group. The Good Doctor is about the Italian experience at home - here in Hamilton, Ontario - during WWII. One thing I didn't realize about this book: the main character's name is Vincenzo Arcone (why is that interesting? The author's name is Vince Agro. Hm.) It comes out in October, but is up on the publisher's site and is available for pre-order on Amazon.ca now.

Case #3: Totally not ready yet, but we've heard that it's being sent to the printers this week! How to Land a Jumbo Jet by Lonely Planet - is a book of travel "infographics". Think travel facts, figures, and other goodies in graphic form. My graphic designer sister and I collaborated on two infographics, and they both got accepted. Looking forward to seeing our "How Someone with a Sweet Tooth Sees Europe" and "Tea Consumption versus Life Satisfaction" in print in this coffee table book. They were blogging about the process here, if you want a sneak peek: http://lpinfographics.virb.com/
